Choose decorationThe practice of decorating porcelain with bouquets of flowers with a “European“ character did not come about until a stylistic detachment from Chinese models took place. It was not until 1740, shortly before the Vienna porcelain manufactory was taken over by the imperial house , that a demand grew for artists to use flowers native to Europe, especially those found in baroque castle gardens, for porcelain painting. The opulence of the rich floral bouquets painted in a splendid array of colours and in crimson, are absolutely delightful.
